Heels?

Do you wear heels?

dan and I

I don't. I wear shoes. Or mukluks. Or boots. My tallest heels are 2" tall thanks to the few pair of Dansko's I own. And those aren't even heels.

I also don't wear dresses, or fix my hair or wear makeup.

But sometimes (once in a Blue Moon. Once in a Lunar Eclipse. Once in a rainy January in Kotzebue...) I want to dress up. Like a girl.

Cause after all, I'm a girl right!?

Dean and I snuck off to Anchorage last weekend for a quick trip with our friends. It was a surprise visit, and we didn't plan for it, but it was really great to just hang out with nothing planned, no power shopping, and hurried status.

and we dressed up and went out.

I fixed my hair.

I wore makeup.

I wore a dress and heels.

It was fun.

But that doesn't mean that I'm gonna be doing that all the time. I mean, there is only so much you can do in Kotzebue. And heels aren't one of them.

On a side note. This was the very first time my husband has ever seen me walk in heels. It was quite funny because he thought I'd slip and break my leg, so kept his hand on me the entire time we walked the slippery, snowey driveways! I just enjoyed the attention.

Maybe I will wear heels... at home.

You look cute dressed up! Since my current job doesn't require business attire like my last one, I very rarely get dressed up. Especially in this cold weather! It's just not worth it most days :)

Love the shoes! Did you get them in Anchorage?

Love your blog, Maija. I bought a pair of shoes w/some height, and I almost twisted my ankle after I took them home. Oh what the hay, we'll get used to them...won't we? Byrd

You look great (and sooo much like your daughter!). Love those shoes!

I wear heels to work (on the few occasions I need to go out to work), or sometimes if I'm feeling fancy, but now with two toddlers needing to be carried often, that is usually not a good choice.
