Ugh. So, I haven't posted in a LONG time. A week I think.
I've been sick since coming back from Vegas. Yes, I went to Las Vegas last week and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. I'll NEVER stay there again. Ever.
There were crazy hootchie girls dancing on the tables. IN THE REGISTRATION area. I mean, there were people trying to check in with their CHILDREN.
Talk about the true Den of Debauchery! On Sunday morning, I was walking around saying, "You know, you could go to CHURCH instead of being here!" (while we were on our way to Target of course!)
Anyway, At least I got to meet up with Michele, from Four Times the Fun and I got to bring a bunch of "Eskimo stuff" for her and her kids.
Including an Ulu, some Sealskin, Fox heads, Fox tails, Wolf Paws and a wolf tail too. Oh, and some mouton and rabbit pelts too.
Cause I'm a good blog friend! :) hahha.. We did get to meet a couple of other triplet mom's Joselle and Misti who were brought along just in case I was some crazy Eskimo animal killer. Michele? Do you really think Joselle or Misti could take me?! Me and CATHY!? I brought an ULU!
Dogpot.
That's all I gotta say! hahahaha.
Anyway, aside from Vegas, I went home and got pneumonia. But nothing is gonna stop me from watching my son play basketball. So, enjoy some basketball photos of my kid on the high school JV team!
OMG! When did I get a kid in HIGH SCHOOL!? Ack.
My kind of Cheerios!

Pretzels!
Sorry for the lack of posts. I've been VERY busy. Traveling to villages at -35 below zero, walking on rivers, and running around busier than a bee!
I have had time at home, but when I get home, I just want to sew or bake, or bark orders at my kids who want to bake!
So, last night Kaisa decided she wanted Pretzels. Homemade ones.
And coincidentally I got a new Food Network Magazine and Guy Fieri's pretzel recipe was in there for us to use! (she swears it wasn't because she saw the photos but because she wanted pretzels!)
Pretzels are so easy a seven year old can make them! (With a little direction from momma of course.)
She measured the ingredients into the Kitchenaid while the honey and yeast mixture sat and bubbled. Turned it on and waited patiently.
We really only had to wait for them to rise about fifteen minutes or so. Otherwise it took her so long to roll the dough, cut it and roll into pretzels that it rose waiting for her!
And they turned out wonderfully grand. Hot and crusty and salty on the outside, soft and doughy on the inside.
Yum.

Sew Cold...
*Yay, I finally can upload photos again!
It's only been about 5 to 10 below zero lately, which is great when you don't have a snowmachine and have to hang out at home.
And when your new company celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr./Della Keats Day while your kids go to school, this means you can sew.
A lot.
And I have several photos of Fur Parky's for my kids and Angry Birds for my friends...but alas, photobucket is NOT working today and I am much too tired to try to force it to work now. So, the photos are on facebook if you're my friend! If not, you'll have to wait to see my awesome kids in their awesome fur parky's with cotton/canvas covers. (Complete with fur hats too. Koy's is beaver and leather, Kaisa's is muskrat and leather. Next on their list...traveling mittens!)
Mouton Parky with Heavyweight Cotton outer with Sheared Beaver cuffs and Wolf and Wolverine Ruff with a Muskrat and Leather Hat. (handsewn by me)

Heels?
Do you wear heels?
I don't. I wear shoes. Or mukluks. Or boots. My tallest heels are 2" tall thanks to the few pair of Dansko's I own. And those aren't even heels.
I also don't wear dresses, or fix my hair or wear makeup.
But sometimes (once in a Blue Moon. Once in a Lunar Eclipse. Once in a rainy January in Kotzebue...) I want to dress up. Like a girl.
Cause after all, I'm a girl right!?
Dean and I snuck off to Anchorage last weekend for a quick trip with our friends. It was a surprise visit, and we didn't plan for it, but it was really great to just hang out with nothing planned, no power shopping, and hurried status.
and we dressed up and went out.
I fixed my hair.
I wore makeup.
I wore a dress and heels.
It was fun.
But that doesn't mean that I'm gonna be doing that all the time. I mean, there is only so much you can do in Kotzebue. And heels aren't one of them.
On a side note. This was the very first time my husband has ever seen me walk in heels. It was quite funny because he thought I'd slip and break my leg, so kept his hand on me the entire time we walked the slippery, snowey driveways! I just enjoyed the attention.
Maybe I will wear heels... at home.

I knew I loved them for a reason!
Thank you Anon. YOU. ARE. THE. BOMB!
P.S. what are you doing up at 2:18 am on a weeknight!?
Not like the black bomb bird, but awesome nonetheless! Email me and I'll give you something, JUST for pointing out that...
According to Wikipedia, "Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finland- based Rovio Mobile...." (the rest is not important).
Did you see that. FINLAND.
Now I am totally justified in LOVING every bit of Angry Birds.
Loving them so much that I made FIVE more last night.
Three of the same for CATHY . And two more for me.
The little blue one and the big white one.
Dean says I need to make the HUGE BLACK EAGLE that swoops down and gets all those dang PIGS when you can't pass the level! But I can never SEE the eagle, so we'll see.

Angry?
I have just the thing for you.
Angry Birds . The most sickenly addicting game we play. Ugh. I have a love/hate relationship with Angry Birds.
And on the iPad? You can literally waste an HOUR of your time just trying to pass one level. Horrible. I mean, when you're in line at the Post Office for 2 hours a day, you can certainly play then...but like a good author, Angry Birds just sucks you into some time continuum and you're STUCK playing until you pass the stupid board.
Don't even get me started on the Christmas Advent App. Maybe all levels should be like that. One board PER DAY until Christmas. The PAIN and ANGUISH we felt as we passed, happy to go on...only to realize we had 11 hours and 52 minutes until we could play the next.
So, luckily my friends are all looking out for me. They all know this horrible infatuation with the game. And one of my friends pointed me to Obsessively Stitching .
Angry Birds Plush.
OMG! GASP! GADZOOKS! HOLY SHABOOYAH!
Something for me to SEW...and PLAY...and LOVE all at the same time!!?? Soemone pinch me.
So guess what I did?
I made some.
And now they're all sitting in my office nice and happy (minus the Red one cause Cathy stole it) staring down at everyone who comes to visit me.
My mother-in-law is picking me up several yards of fleece, because the felt ones are OK for offices, but I want fleece ones to throw at my kids when they aren't listening and staring at the oblivion called Cable TV.
Kaisa already said she wants a sling shot to go with.
Ahhh....enjoy!

Happy New everything...
OK, sorry to scare people. I am totally fine. Better than fine actually.
I quit my job. I got a new job.
I made a few Fur Parky's for my kids when the weather was hovering around MINUS 20 below zero for a few weeks. Then as soon as they were done, the weather has been around 15 ABOVE! Certainly not fur parky weather. But at least I got them done right!?
I've been cooking/baking up a storm while taking "days off" between jobs.
All of us have really had fun playing Wii's Just Dance adn Just Dance 2 games. I even have my sister on the lookout for the Michael Jackson version. How I wasn't privvy to this game yet is beyond me. I mean, they have Wii BROADWAY edition. Ahh...my dream game. After Glee that is!
We completely enjoyed our time for Christmas with Zach, the twins and my dad.
I did end up getting a few things off my Christmas list...like an iPad, and Lobbens, so this Momma was HAPPY on Christmas.
And my husband was very busy making knives for the holiday season with his minions.
And were just completely busy wtih life! So, no worries.
I'll be back in no time.
