At my old school the cut off was 32* I think. Sometimes we wanted to take them out if it was colder but like the first commenter said, it started issues!Bethanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05064704299561250273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2250327881833503609.post-21453850257835325222010-12-16T17:37:15.320-09:002010-12-16T17:37:15.320-09:00WOW! Thanks for the info, I love information like that!

OK, here's my other boring teacher-y question - how do they have room to store all those layers of clothing for the kids, and prevent lice?!?

The idea of bundling up 30 kids wears me out, although your kids are probably well past that stage.

Love your blog!!scarfoot79https://www.blogger.com/profile/01291250114236372321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2250327881833503609.post-38760429463775466762010-12-16T09:35:31.186-09:002010-12-16T09:35:31.186-09:00alaaaaaaaaapaaaaaaaaa! thank God for fur!alaaaaaaaaapaaaaaaaaa! thank God for fur!tundra gypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10396818812777962614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2250327881833503609.post-13502080059094315122010-12-16T09:01:08.699-09:002010-12-16T09:01:08.699-09:00*sweater (oops)*sweater (oops)Finnskimohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15796494092961147276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2250327881833503609.post-10057793316639153672010-12-16T09:00:44.715-09:002010-12-16T09:00:44.715-09:00Funny, cause right now its minus 53 below zero win...Funny, cause right now its minus 53 below zero wind chill. And the planes are still flying, the kids are walking to and from school, etc.

I think they use a "flesh freeze" factor to figure out minus 19 below. Flesh freezes in less than ... ___ minutes at that temperature, so they have the kids play out for less than it takes to freeze their flesh! Awesome.

The kids take just a few minutes to bundle up. For example, my daughter puts on a sweather, then snow pants, then boots, then a jacket, then a scarf/neckwarmer, then her fur hat and then her gloves/mittens and she's ready to go. :) Although in the morning it takes her about FIFTEEN minutes to get dressed to get in the car and go to school. Why not throw one more degree in there and make it an even -20? haha

And to think - at my job, we almost get in fist fights if it is 31 degrees and someone still wants to go outside even though the cut off is 32.

What I want to know is, how long does it take the kids to get bundled up and then undressed afterward? It isn't something I can really wrap my head around.scarfoot79https://www.blogger.com/profile/01291250114236372321noreply@blogger.com
